Typical end uses
With so many different constructions, shaped wire is used in a variety of orthodontic applications, such as:
- Archwires
- Self-ligating brackets
- Springs
Alloys
Here's a list of alloys we commonly work with and use in a majority of the products purchased by our orthodontic customers. If you don't see the alloy you want to use for your application, contact your sales representative to help with your request.
- Nitinol superelastic and shape memory performance in precision wire and components
- 304V stainless steel more uniform chemistry and increased carbon content for higher tensile strength
- FWM™ 1058 alloy corrosion resistance, strength, fatigue resistance, and high-elastic modulus
We're also familiar with TiBeta3, a high-strength beta alloy with good hardenability, good resistance to stress corrosion, and good cold-formability. If you want more information about it, please reach out to your sales representative.
