Supporting the endoscopy market

When navigating the tight turns and small spaces inside the human body, you need high-quality materials and advanced products to ensure the best performance when you need it most. We manufacture strands and cables in a vast range of alloys, sizes, and complex constructions so you can design the product with the right strength, flexibility, and fatigue life for your application.

Typical end uses

We make strands and cables to exact specifications, allowing you to design both reusable and disposable devices for a variety of needs, such as:

  • Opening strictures of digestive tract and airway
  • Performing biopsies
  • Retrieval of foreign objects from the airway
  • Retrieving gallstones
  • Stopping internal bleeding
  • Supporting colon exams
  • Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease

Alloys

Here's a list of alloys we commonly work with and use in a majority of the products purchased by our endoscopy customers. If you don't see the alloy you want to use for your application, contact your sales representative to help with your request.

  • 302 stainless steel identical to 304V in chemical composition except for higher carbon content, 302 has a higher tensile strength
  • 304V stainless steel vacuum arc remelted, 304V has more uniform chemistry with less tensile strength than 302
  • 316LVM stainless steel uniform chemistry, improved microcleanliness, and can be processed to improve ductility or corrosion resistance
  • 35N LT™ alloy strength, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility
  • Commercially pure titanium grades 1-4 Grade 1 has the highest corrosion resistance, formability, and lowest strength, whereas grade 4 offers the highest strength with moderate formability
  • FWM® 1058 alloy corrosion resistance, strength, fatigue resistance, and high elastic modulus
  • FWM® 1537 alloy high strength, ductility, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility
  • L-605 alloy high-strength properties at elevated temperatures along with good oxidation and corrosion resistance
  • MP35N® alloy strength, good biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance
  • Nitinol (binary and ternary) superelastic and shape memory performance in precision wire and components
  • Ti 6Al-4V ELI an alpha-beta titanium alloy containing 6% aluminum, 5% vanadium, and extra low interstitials

Additionally, here are alloys we are familiar with, but if you want more information, please reach out to your sales representative.

  • 22Cr-13Ni-5Mn austenitic, nitrogen strengthened steel combining corrosion resistance comparable with 316 stainless and greater strength
  • Ti 6Al-7Nb high strength titanium alloy with excellent biocompatibility

Products

Our highly engineered strands and cables are helping customers provide better care worldwide.

  • HHS® tube an open working channel offering improved torqueability, kink resistance, and flexibility for navigating tight spaces
  • Strands and cables complex constructions offering high strength, high fatigue, and flexibility
