Supporting the cardiac rhythm management market

When it comes to keeping hearts beating, you can't compromise on performance. Whether it's a DFT® wire, a specialty-coated ultrafine cable, or a custom-assembled component, we manufacture a variety of products in a range of sizes that combine strength and fatigue resistance with properties such as conductivity and radiopacity that our customers use to help cardiac devices perform better.

Typical end uses

Our materials are used in a variety of our customers' implantable devices.

  • Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)
  • Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillation (ICD) systems including defibrillators and other devices used in the treatment of tachycardia
  • Pacing systems including pacemakers and other devices used to treat patients with bradycardia
  • Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)

Alloys

Here's a list of alloys we commonly work with and use in a majority of the products purchased by our cardiac rhythm management customers. If you don't see the alloy you want to use for your application, contact your sales representative to help with your request.

  • 35N LT™ alloy strength, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility
  • FWM® 1058 alloy corrosion resistance, strength, fatigue resistance, and high elastic modulus
  • Gold high conductivity, high radiopacity
  • MP35N® alloy strength, good biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance
  • Nitinol (binary and ternary) superelastic and shape memory performance in precision wire and components
  • Platinum/Pt 10lr/Pt 20lr strength, radiopacity
  • Silver conductivity, cost-effectiveness
  • Tantalum tensile strength, elongation

Products

When our customers require materials that are small and strong for devices that navigate the human body, we produce the following:

  • Mechanical assembly custom crimps, fittings, and specialized parts added to wire products
  • Strands and cables complex constructions offering high strength, high fatigue, and flexibility

Services

In addition to precision wire products, we offer technologies that enhance the performance of our customers' devices:

  • Coating includes electrical insulation, chemical separation, and improved lubricity
  • Laser ablation removes coating from a wire, allowing the exact amount of exposed material to be customized for your application
